Barra Festive & Public Holiday Arrangements

The Practice will be closed on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th December 2025, and Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd January 2026. We ask patients to ensure any prescriptions are ordered well in advance.

Take care in winter weather

Please be cautious when walking towards the building – when it’s frosty outside, remember to WALK LIKE A PENGUIN! 🐧
❄️ Bend slightly and keep your knees loose.
❄️ Point your feet out slightly.
❄️ Extend your arms to your sides.
❄️ Walk flat-footed, taking short, slow steps.
❄️ Keep your centre of gravity over your feet.

Public Holidays

Please note that in the event of Barra Medical Practice being closed for Public Holidays, during these times, patients requiring urgent medical attention should contact NHS 24 by dialing 111. For prescription requests during this period, please use our Repeat Prescription Line: 01871 810333.

Staff Training

In the event of Barra Medical Practice being closed for staff training, dates will appear here and all scheduled appointments for this date will be rescheduled.
